What does ';beauty is in the eye of the beholder'; mean?

It means that different people will see beauty in different places, people, and ways. Each person uses his or her own unique likes, dislikes, experiences, etc. to determine what they deem beautiful. It is similar to ';one man's trash is another man's treasure'; in the sense that each unique person has a unique view, set of needs, desires, etc. that form their outlook on the world. What does ';beauty is in the eye of the beholder'; mean?
To me, Isabella Rossellini is gorgeous and undeniably attractive. It means that, in looking at something, evaluating whether it is beautiful or not, each person makes a purely subjective judgement.
certain ppl find certain things beautiful, but other ppl may not
It means to view from within. In other words not to judge from looks on the outside but from within ones heart.
