Both. I find it interesting, for example, the changing atitudes to skin tone and weight, in rich countries a fuller figure is normally considered a turn of by most people where as in poorer it is often desirable. Similarly many light cocasions try to tan their skin whereas many darker skinned people see fair skin as beautifull. In terms of women, however, while their is no overall consensus on ideal weight they say that there is a body ratio that is universally considered attractive (the hour glass figure). This is biological, it suggests fertility. Is beauty really in the eye of the beholder or are there certain standards set for society?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder in that we all have different taste in what we find attractive. However, society plays a part - in certain places in Africa the fatter you are (and I mean HUGE) as a woman then the more desirable you are to the vast majority of men whereas here only a minority of men find very oversized women attractive. Is beauty really in the eye of the beholder or are there certain standards set for society?
yes, i believe it is very tue. If someone tells me im nice, i will think they are nice back. If you look at someone taalking to someone else, you will hear one say: you are a *****!'; that means that they, themselves, are a *****!
That statement keeps me from judjing others too quickly.
I hope that answered your question!
True beauty is in the eye of the beholder them self. What society sees is how she reflects. Society has been formed to have unrealistic standards that often are to bazzare for a single person to achieve.
beauty is totally in the eye of the beholder. i'm sure you have friends that think a certain celebrity is really hot and you may not agree. everybody has different likes and dislikes.
For a more scientific answer, look into a documentary series from 2001 called The Human Face.
Eye of the beholder, some men like skinny women some like curvy, there are certain things like nice skin that are beautiful to most men but its eye of the beholder.
