No. Yes. Those are my answers to your two questions. Can you define beauty for all of mankind ???? since beauty is in the eye of the beholder ?
One need not be a scientist to appreciate the beauty and order all around us
But it is the rainbow of variety that makes things beautiful. If everything were the same -would it still be in the eye of the beholder? So what is beauty?
It's the rainbow of variety that surrounds us.
From that rainbow of varity we pick our favorities
Theres been a bit of research in Psychology about physical attactiveness in humans. It seems that across most cultures, what are deemed to be physically attractive faces tend to posses the same qualities, namely that of symmetry. Studies included showing photos of both men and woman to different cultures throughout the world and getting them to judge which face was more attractive. Each photo had another one alongside. One was natural, how they actually looked, the other was touched up, imperfections were made to dissapear and the face was made to be symmeatrical. I'm not sure of the exact percent but the research deffinately showed that across cultures, a physically attractive and beautiful face was one that was symmetrical. Of course however, there was much more discrepency between physically attractive bodies. In Western cultures, thin woman are beautiful, in tribal cultures, larger woman are beautiful.
From this I think that beauty is defined by the culture we live in. Some of us may find beauty in different things, but for the majority at least, it does seems that beauty is defined by our culture, the media and what surrounds us.
well, you just said it.. the best way one can express.
it's also: beauty is where you find it....
beauty is all around, to find it you must have vision....
and other metaphorical nonsense.
:D
Beauty is not what you see externally sure someone can be visually beautiful or handsome to look at aesthetically, all people have inner beauty that has often been muddied by life's circumstances they then create this external persona like an impermeable shield around who they truly are.
Let your inner self shine like the brightest light strip away all the facades %26amp; you will be radiant. If all you have is what I truly am then I have no need to act out to maintain this persona life becomes so much simpler and only light will gravitate back to you.
The quality attributed to whatever pleases of satisfies the senses or mind, as by line, color, form, texture, proportion, rhythmic motion, tone, etc., or by behavior attitude, etc. A very good looking woman.
What else is in the eye of the beholder??
No, I cannot speak for all of mankind. I can not even describe or define how I feel when I see something beautiful...
But when a large majority feels the same way, we agree to call something beautiful...Isn't that how beauty contests are judged?
If I call something --- *beautiful*,...I mean, I 'cannot' describe it with words. Beauty comes to be appreciated, but not to be perfectly defined.
Beauty is not only in the eye of the beholder, it IS the eye.
