GUYS: Imagine Im ur girlfriend and as we walk on the street, you eye up another beauty. How shall I react?

How shall I react in order to make you proud of me?

Shall I show u that i know u r eyeing up other girls?

Is it a bad sign if a guy is looking at other girls?GUYS: Imagine Im ur girlfriend and as we walk on the street, you eye up another beauty. How shall I react?
One - If you were my girlfriend I wouldn't be eyeing around.

Two - In the hypothetical situation you have put us both I would expect you to turn on your pretty heels, look me lovingly in the eye, caress my face and say,';Honey, I have everything she has plus I also have something that she doesn't have -- and that is my undying love for you. Everytime you eye someone else you insult my love for you as I would if I eyed some other guy. I know you wouldn't like that and I know that you now realize that I don't like it either. I will never insult your love for me. And I expect the same from you.';

And then you'd give me a mind blowing kiss. And I'll be all yours foreva n eva!

Amen!GUYS: Imagine Im ur girlfriend and as we walk on the street, you eye up another beauty. How shall I react?
Stare at other guys and ignore his disrespectful behavior.... ;-)
THAT IS WHY THE ISLAM GOT THE CREDIT SINCE THEY WEAR PHARDA NO RASCAL CAN LOOK AT THEM AND ALSO MAKE THE GIRLFRIEND TO GET OFFENDED.THAT IS THE ONLY WAY FOR YOU TO AMEND THE HABIT OF YOUR SO CALLED BOY FRIEND. OTHERWISE IT IS A REALITY THAT ANY MAN THINKS THAT THE OTHER WOMEN IS MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN WHAT HE HAS.BUT THE REALITY IS THAT THOSE FOOLS ARE YET TO KNOW THAT THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RIVER IS ALWAYS GREEN.
First of all, that he would get caught at all means he's seriously lacking in technique and should reference Chapter 4 of the Men's Handbook.

As for how you should react... are you secure in your relationship? If so, he could just be admiring the same beauty in others that you possess. Is he being extremely obvious about it in a cartoon-like manner? Maybe he's trying to be funny (woefully indadequate but he's trying). It could be that he's looking to get out of the relationship but doesn't want to do the direct confrontation thing, but wants you to get angry and break up with him so he can play the sympathy card when talking to other girls.

If you notice it, let him know. How you play it after that depends, again, on how strong the relationship is. Joking can be used to defuse a tense situation but may not resolve any issues. Getting angry can either show that you care or that your being a [expletive deleted]. Not showing anything at all can either show that you don't care and are getting ready to dump him or that it doesn't really matter because you know that you two are together and that's it.

If you think it's a bad sign, then yes it is.
as long as they dont touch, you should allow them to do that - it is freedom of expression.

If you cannot handle it, you need to deal with your jealous ... he is not the problem you are the problem.

I guess talk to him about your feelings, and make sure that you listen to his feelings - perhaps he have a different reason. Work together.
i wouldn't like it if my man was looking at other women. i'd smack him infront of her to teach him a lesson...:D
I wouldn't feel comfortable! but, I will let him know how I feel!

if after he eyed the beauty , and paid a complement about her ,then he might just be admiring a good looking person, but if after he eyed her down and be silent about it ! I think there is something more in his mind !
If you think she too was cute or pretty, just say so. See how he responds to your being open to how other people might look to him. If you show that you are self assure, then he will respect that and keep his eyes on you.
That all depends on how your relationship is doing. The best thing is to not take it personal; inspite of alot of misconceptions this is acutally normal behavior for hetrosexual males: would it make you feel any better if he was checking out other guys? LOL There are many things you can do. Here are some examples...

You can use this to your advantage.

OBSERVE AND SAY NOTHING: Don't try to be someone your not, but this can give you an idia of what he likes in appearance. Take it lightly (if he's looking he's probably getting aroused: Blush). Don't just make sudden changes. Remember different things about the girls he looked at and the next time you drag him moaning to shop for cloaths ask his opinion on an outfit you saw one of those girls wearing. Wait a day or so, a week if he was really looking, two weeks if he made an intejection, this way you don't let him on to what you are doing. Some guys enjoy helping their lady dress up (this could be a secret)I your guy is like this try letting him help you pick out cloaths.

COMMUNICATE:casually ask him what he liked about what he saw; you may be able to use this to improve your sex life: as in things like role playing (Big Blush). A giggle is usually a good way to brake the ice, provided he's not insecure himself. Think about how cute he looks whie being a typical guy, see the humor in it. If you giggle he just might stop.

USE POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT: At the end of a date, or prior to intimate activities, tell him that it make you happy that he didn't checkout other girls, and that it helped you feel important to him. You may also try special rewards for good behavior.

BE HONEST:If this makes you feel uneasy you need to take a look at yourself, jelousy is always a sign that you are feeling insecure. Be honest with yourself and in your relationship. If you're secure it can go along way in keeping your relationship secure.

BE OPEN: If you choose to tell him that him looking at other women makes you uncomfortable use ';I statements'; and avoid ';You statements'; maybe something like ';It's probably nothing, but I felt a little uneasy when I saw you checking that girl out. I felt uncomfortable because...';

BE CREATIVE: You can use these in combonation in various degrees. Don't be encouraging but don't be critical either.

Remember no one likes to feel like they are on a leash. keep yourself in balance and NEVER take it too personal.

Is beauty in the eye of the beholder, or the beer-holder?

it is in the eyes of the beer holder, more beer more beautifulIs beauty in the eye of the beholder, or the beer-holder?
hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa i love it, that's hilarious! im still laughing. thanks for brightening up my day man. i think its both!Is beauty in the eye of the beholder, or the beer-holder?
Both actually. Girls get better looking at closing time.
Beholder. If it's in the eye of the beer holder...lord we're in for a world of trouble!!!!
the beer holder definitely.................never actually thought of it. Thanks alot

If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, would that mean everyone is model material?

Only if the beholder was writing out the checks! If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, would that mean everyone is model material?
everyone is beutiful to someone else in the world. thats just a simple fact.If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, would that mean everyone is model material?
I've never thought of this saying in this manner before, but, yes, I believe it does mean that. It means that even I could be a model - a male model. Now to find someone who can see some beauty in me.

Well, that seems like a lost cause.
In theory yes, but only on a personal level. I don't really find models to be all that beautiful, so it's all a matter of preference.
If you are an ugly *** ***** or a fatass *****, then **** NO!
if that is what you think is beautiful

Do you think that beauty is in the eye of the beholder?

I think that it is nonsense. Don't matter what race the guy is, every guy in the world thinks that white girls are hot.Do you think that beauty is in the eye of the beholder?
Yeah that Rita McNeil she's a keeper! In other news what's it like to be an ugly white guy? Fun? Not so fun? Play alot of video games.Do you think that beauty is in the eye of the beholder?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and dude what you said is not hitting my beauty mark!
ummm thanks for the fact im a white girl, but i think anyone can be beautiful no matter their race, beauty can be inside and out, also beauty is seen more by the people that love you the complete strangers... so yes beauty is in the eye of the beholder because you dont condsider everyone beautiful so there by you just proved yourself wrong because you think only ';white girls are hot';
I think some women are beautiful that almost everyone would agree with. They make almost everyone turn their heads. However, most of the movie/TV starletts do nothing for me including Pam Anderson, Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts. Most of these women make me shake my head and wonder why they are famous. The white woman thing makes me laugh a little- I am white and am not especially attracted to blondes. You could have the worst looking blonde woman and it seems as though black men still want to be with her. I do not know why. It seems to be some sort of conquest. I myself would prefer to be with a Chinese or Asian woman although beauty comes in all races.
no that would be in the eye of the beerholder.
not all white girls are hot. and not only.

wtf?
Javier, is it? Interesting name. Ummm what is this business about white girls? I'm a white girl, and I can honestly say not every guy finds me hot. personally, i find my race to be a bunch of slacking douchebags who can't sing. paris hilton or rihanna? if you say paris, you're a filthy liar. she ******* sucks.

How do you get rid of dark circles under your eyes without buying expensive beauty products?

im only fourteen, but i have sleeping problems and..well, i look like a racoon sometimes.

i cant buy those special products though, and yes, ive tried avacodosHow do you get rid of dark circles under your eyes without buying expensive beauty products?
you can apply the content of a vitamine E capsul. How do you get rid of dark circles under your eyes without buying expensive beauty products?
used tea bags, once cooled can be applied to the eye for a few minutes. Also preparation H, which is meant for hemoroids works good to help w/ the puffiness. The darkness might be a sign of dehydration so drink more water. Sorry about you not sleeping.
Use concealer, it isn`t that expensive. Cover Girl has one thats pretty good and it`s reasonable, just dot on dark circles and pat lightly with fingertip to spread. Of greater concern, is why at 14, ur having problems sleeping. Maybe u should talk with ur mom about this.
uhhh... sleep more.
dark circles are caused by dehydration. Make sure you drink a lot of water (not diluting juice) and the circles'll go away! Nice, easy and CHEAP!
1-sleep more

2-used cold tea bags

3-slices of cucumber

4-tone with cotton dipped in milk

5-honey mask
I heard Almond oil can help... and gettin' enough sleep can help get rid of the raccoon look but it will take a few days or more.

but if you want to cover those up, you can use any cover-up or concealer in liquid form to blend it in after your foundation to reduce the dark circles and the puffiness... although you may have to find the right shade for you skin tone.
There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

http://www.mydarkcirclesblog.com/2006/11鈥?/a>

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:

Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water %26amp; stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath %26amp; let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K %26amp; Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

http://www.mydarkcirclesblog.com/2007/01鈥?/a>
Get a script from your doctor for a mild sleeping agent and get some rest. Drink more water throughout the day!!! Water helps in countless ways.

**Go to the cosmetic counter at your local Macy's/Lord-n-Taylor/Nieman Marcus/.....(higher end department stores) and have them make up your face to pick out the foundation that will best cover the circles. You use that foundation (as it will be a higher priced item...say $15) and then use your CoverGirl/Loreal foundation for the rest of your face.***

  • Do you think beauty is in the eye of the beholder, or is it skin deep?

It's definitely in the eye of the beholder and that is a good thing.. otherwise every guy would be after the same girl.. guys have different tastes.. this is not just about hair colour.. one could easily change blonde hair to black or brunette.. but there is more to it.. some like very slender and tall girls.. others like girls who are a little bit fuller figured... but still looking nice.. some like girls who are a bit shy and other guys like girls who are more cheeky.. personality also plays a role and every guy likes something different.. in the personality of the girl he chooses.. Some like blue eyes or green, some like brown eyes, some like a person who is not very beautiful but has a very attractive and genuine smile and they love her for that...and because she is fun to be with.. One painter may see a girl who has just unusual features but they are positive and strong features and he may think her beautiful and worth painting for that reason and another girl may look just perfect.. but there is no life in her face that comes alive on canvas then he would rather paint the plainer looking one with the interesting face.. that comes to life on the painting... everyone is different.. some people thing the Mona Lisa by leonardo da Vinci was beautiful.. to me she is an average looking woman.. but she has that myserious half smile about her.. that is hardly a smile at all so she is in a way intriquing.. although in my opinion not attractive to look at...Do you think beauty is in the eye of the beholder, or is it skin deep?
I think beauty comes from a person's soul, their deep inner feelings.

There are a few people I consider my best friends that I have met online, I've only seen them on the webcam a couple times, but I know they are the most beautiful people in the world. I know it because I feel it in my heart and soul.Do you think beauty is in the eye of the beholder, or is it skin deep?
personally, i think beauty is an undefined concept... what is beauty exactly? it means something different to everyone, and some will say that beauty is only skin deep. so the only thing that matters is, what do you think beauty is?
I think beauty is in the eye of the beholder and does not matter what that person looks like it is how they treat others and how others treat each other.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but when you look in the mirror, YOU are the beholder
I think beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I also think its whats inside that counts.
beholder because people dont read each other peace love

If you don't judge a book by it's cover, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, is beauty only skin deep ?

Greetings Bilbo...everything is beautiful..in it's own way...so for me the depth of beauty of someone is when I feel the goodness dwelling within the Spirit of someone deeply within! It is not about judging at all, it is about seeing all within the book. then choosing to garciously accept lovingly the beauty therin! A persons real beauty is their Spirit....and as the book is opend and the pages turned we see the unveiling! Love grows greatly as we begin to see the unfolding of another! Simply put, much is unveiled as we begin to read the pages of the book...and Wow some books are lovely indeed, fulll of sorrows and joys, landscapes and scenes! Once you dive into a book that is beautiful...you become enhanced by it's beauty...if there is something which touches your soul, heart and mind! ((((hugs))))!

    Lovingly,

She Dances With Love!If you don't judge a book by it's cover, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, is beauty only skin deep ?
a person can be on the cover of ALL the beauty books, etc but be a ';not-so- beautiful'; person INside! She/He can have all the physical attributes of external beauty but still be miserable on the inside.

There again look at the opposite view. If he or she is not as physically appealing as their counterpart, they can be the most beautiful person on the inside.

That is one reason the phrase ';don't judge a book by it's cover'; was derived from the bible!!! It should not matter what a person looks like on the outside, what matters is what is in their heart !!If you don't judge a book by it's cover, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, is beauty only skin deep ?
In a society where image often counts for more than substance, Christians do well to keep in mind the Bible's sober reminder: ';Everything the world affords, all that panders to the appetites or entices the eyes, all the glamour of its life, springs not from the Father but from the godless world. And that world is passing away with all its allurements, but he who does God's will stands for evermore.';鈥? John 2:16, 17, The New English Bible

    Real beauty comes from within,

not from what you wear or what so called skin deep it fades.......

Appeared in Awake! September 8, 2003
it depends on what type of beauty, inner beauty can be applied to both statements, for example my husband might find my naivety cute and endearing where as other people might find it annoying, its beautiful to him but not them, and none of them would know it about me unless they got to know me :P
If you DON'T judge a book by it's cover, what do you judge it by? Obviously something deeper, like it's contents. And if beauty is in the eye of the beholder, who's to say what the ';eye'; of the ';beholder'; is seeing? If the ';beholder'; only sees skin, then the ';beholder'; is the shallow, ';skin deep'; item in your posit, not beauty. Beauty is far deeper than just skin, even though skin has it's beauty as well. God, as in Jesus our Christ, Bless you.
Yes beauty is only skin deep and as you get older and your beauty leaves, then you are left with either a loving and forgiving heart, or you are left with a hollow heart, one that is hateful, and evil.

We should want to have inner beauty as well.
    Remember God created us

when we call some one ugly we are criticizing Gods work

who are we to do that? when we stand before him some day, he will ask why did we call this person ugly and who were we to do that

a person can have outward beauty, and be as ugly as satan on the inside
Woah, woah, woah ... woah. You're putting the cart before the horse; where there's will there's a way and the way, the truth and the light is Zombie Regan, always turning up like a bad penny, saved and earned!
When old age shall this generation waste,

Thou shalt remain, in midst of other woe

Than ours, a friend to man, to whom thou say'st,

'Beauty is truth, truth beauty,鈥攖hat is all

Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.'
True beauty is soul deep, and if your inner eyes are open you will behold this beauty and you'll see how the cover mirrors the book in the same way the outer mirrors the inner.

    Don't be fooled...
Physical beauty is only skin deep...but there are so many other dimensions to true beauty that physical beauty can hardly be the only important one.
Beauty is only skin deep, yeah, yeah, yeah...One of my favorite Temptation songs.....%26gt;:)
    No.

There is 'true beauty' which is skin deep, while there is 'beauty' which is from the outside.
With all due respect, but comparing a book with a person is stupid. A book is not a living thing. Therefore your question doesn't make any sense. Have a Great Day!
Beauty is in the mind, love is in the heart.
Yes . . beauty is only skin deep but, ( there's always a but ) Ugly goes all the way to the bone!!
You need to ask the nearest beekeeper.
I always suspected you had a fun side Bilbo.
    ';is beauty only skin deep';

Yeah, BUT ugly is to teh bone.

    ~
i think it is more than skin deep if you are in true love.
Per Fox in Sox by Dr. Seuss, this is not the case.

What is ';beauty is in the eye of the beholder';? What does it really mean?

    beauty is subjective.

What one person considers beautiful another may not.

The beholder is the one seeing ';eye';What is ';beauty is in the eye of the beholder';? What does it really mean?
The perception of beauty differs from one another. No two visions of perfection are alike. Everything has beauty in it. It just all depends on whose eyes it is seen through.

.:Lark:.What is ';beauty is in the eye of the beholder';? What does it really mean?
It means we all have different tastes in what we consider beautiful, well, sometimes. So while one chick might look ugly to you, she might be pretty to me, and the other way around.

I like the saying, Beauty is in the eye of the Beerholder! lol
Were you watching the Twilight Zone again? Those crazy kids.
only you now what is beauty to you
i means that something that you find beautiful some one else may not and vise versa.
I think u got it wrong. It's ';beauty is in the eye of the Beer-holder';.
To me it means, say. She's the most beautiful thing in the world, doesn't matter if everyone else thinks she's a dog. Who cares what strangers think of us, all that matters is: What we think of ourselves, what our mate thinks, and how our children think of us.

That's alot for your question, lol, sorry if I got off track, i do that.
It means everyone has different opinions of what is beautiful.
It mean that the person looking at something might think that it is beautiful, while some1 else might think that it is ugly. Beauty very from person to person.
It means different people have different opinion of what is beautiful.
Different people have different views on what is beautiful. If you think something or somone is beautiful then it is - simple as that!
In simplest way to describe this phrase means the look of a person is not as important. It's only about people's opinion about what or who is beautiful or handsome. External appearance or attractiveness has no relation to goodness or essential quality of a person. Look is not what makes a person, it's what's from within that counts.
It means what you find beautiful, someone else may not, and vice verse.
    there is no absolute beauty.
IT MEANS! ONE MANS MEAT IS ANOTHER MANS POISON. IT MEANS! YOU LIKE HER BECAUSE YOU LIKE WHAT YOU SEE. BUT I DON'T LIKE HER BECAUSE I DON'T LIKE WHAT I SEE, if you see what i mean??? if you still cant see what i mean BO--OCKS.
if you can love someone, for their spirit, mind, and soul. not if you cannot get past what a phat a@# they got!
    Everyone sees something different when they look at something. It just depends the type of person you are to determine what you think is ';beauty.';

For example, you might think some girl you just saw is really ugly. She might have her face all broken out and her hair is all messy, and let's face it, she could lose five or ten pounds. You might not find her attractive at all. But, to someone else, she could have just given birth to their first child and all of the hormones and stuff have gotten to her. To him, she is still beautiful cause he loves her and really knows her, not just what she looks like for a day.
    Ditto.
Say you and your friends are out in a bar and this girl walks in and you say of my gosh she's hot but none of your friends seem to think so.. Your the beholder and she's the beauty
What is beautiful to me might not be beautiful to you.
It means beauty is diffrent to all people one person might think someone is incredibly ugly, but another might think that same person is beutiful. so beauty is in the eye of the person looking.
we see things through our own eyes, sonetimes differently from others, we cant all agree on everything,
Each person, who finds something beautiful, has a unique perception of the object's beauty.
it means that no matter what anyone else thinks you find beauty in the person you are with

people will talk but it only matters what you think and feel about that special someone

you see something in them that no one else sees
    it's so true!!

it means if you meet somebody who you like, and i'm talking about meeting somebody socially, maybe even your new boss at a job interview, could even be your brother's new girlfriend, you instantly like them.... their personality shines through, and you click. But.....your new boss has two heads!!! you don't notice that, because you have made a good connection, you like this person, despite their looks....

    to you, they are beautiful.

'beauty in the eye of the beholder'?

what does 'beauty in the eye of the beholder' actually mean?'beauty in the eye of the beholder'?
    That beauty is subjective.

The beholder is the person who looks at the beautiful person, and beauty can only be found in their eye, i.e. only them can tell whether *they* find the person beautiful, and another person might find that same person ugly.

Unless it was a typo and you actually mean that ';beauty is in the eye of the beerholder';, which is also perfectly true.'beauty in the eye of the beholder'?
Each person sees beauty in different ways and therefore beauty is a subjective thing. A person may have a great fondness for an old, raher ugly object which has great memories for them. For that person the object would have a certain beauty, that perhaps only they would appreciate.
The phrase 'Beauty is in the eye of the beholder' is dealing with

perception. It states that one subject can find something to be beautiful ( the beholder), and that another subject may not.
It means beauty is subjective. What you (the ';beholder';) finds beautiful, I (as a different ';beholder';) might not.
beauty means beauty and nothing else. if u like something , it is beutiful, if u dont like it, it might be anything, makes no diff.

What constitutes beauty in your eyes?

Whatever form of beauty you want to examine (people, art, etc) is fine with me.What constitutes beauty in your eyes?
Kind eyes and interesting teeth !!What constitutes beauty in your eyes?
I think that beauty is something that has significance to another person. For example, a very old but kind woman with lots of children who she loves is more beautiful than a supermodel with no regard for other people. Conventional beauty isn't real beauty, it's just a fake image of what people say that people should look like, when in fact no one looks like that.
When we say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, we are talking about metaphysical values. Generally, our species appreciates that beautiful sunset, a great play or movie, a job well done, heros, birth, and the ';eternal'; over the ';transient'; because of metaphysical value judgments we make.

Metaphysics, ';in the formation of a sense of life, [which has since come to be called a ';world view';] is the term “important.” It is a concept that belongs to the realm of values, since it implies an answer to the question: Important—to whom? Yet its meaning is different from that of moral values. “Important” does not necessarily mean “good.” It means “a quality, character or standing such as to entitle to attention or consideration” (The American College Dictionary).

';“Important”—in its essential meaning, as distinguished from its more limited and superficial uses—is a metaphysical term. It pertains to that aspect of metaphysics which serves as a bridge between metaphysics and ethics: to a fundamental view of man’s nature.

';Is the universe intelligible to man, or unintelligible and unknowable? Can man find happiness on earth, or is he doomed to frustration and despair? Does man have the power of choice, the power to choose his goals and to achieve them, the power to direct the course of his life—or is he the helpless plaything of forces beyond his control, which determine his fate? Is man, by nature, to be valued as good, or to be despised as evil?'; Ayn Rand, various sources http://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/metaph…
Virtue and cleanliness. Example: A woman who does not fornicate or flaunt her body, and does not use make up, has no piercings, or tattoos.
anything that makes you feel happiness within your soul....so deep within you that it baffles you
    a good person
Can I just ask, what's with all the thumbs down?

I find a caring and kind nature to others beautiful.
    big **** and a nice ****

Beauty is something we all love; is it in the eye of the beholder or in the object to be seen?

    All in the eye,naturally.

one- the actual pair of eyes . and

second but more important- the inner eye,Beauty is something we all love; is it in the eye of the beholder or in the object to be seen?
    bah - curse you neoplatonicists!!!

the modern answer is BOTH! ( a dichotomy posed as such only holds water in the rarified atmosphere of pure, staged and DRAMATISED dialectic - the 'aunt sally' of plato)

i can show you how what is beautiful to me is not beautiful to you, whatever your sensual description is...

and i can demonstrate absolute beauty by calling on mysticisim(all absolutes are mystical - ask your tutor to explain!)....

love? bah! what do you MEAN? love is an action not a sentiment

commonality? bah! you have been seduced by the inductive schemata of inductive reasoning

you ask a question about the ephemera of epistemological classification - what is black? what is white? but the truth is neither black nor white...nor grey...the truth is all colours, held at once, truth and falsehood of this 'rational discourse' understood as two sides of the same coinage - the discs that blind you as you float across the river to the land of yo9ur ignoble death and Truth.

behold - southpark answers all! mmmokay?Beauty is something we all love; is it in the eye of the beholder or in the object to be seen?
Both. There are two categories. First is the UGLIES, second is the BEAUTIES. Then the individual decides which among the BEAUTIES he finds beautiful. However, it is almost impossible for someone to fine beauty among the uglies. So it is both.
    Both..
Beauty is a problem of vanity and superficiality. Such attachment to things that are subjectively and visually appealing is a rather shallow existence. Our society is littered with examples of this superficiality.

An object is an object. Beauty is only a judgment made about the object. Of course, where there is beauty there is also disgust and that which is not beautiful. Such a tormented existence.
the psychology textbook states the former is correct.

    Mostly. To an extent.
it is all in the eye of the beholder...if you ever see wicked the musical...a character says...i wish i could be beautifulfor you...and the other character says...you are...and the first one says...don't lie....and the second one says...it's not lying, it's looking at things differently.
    both.
beauty is in the object to be seen but only the eye of the beholder chooses what to see - so if the beholder's choice is not to see the beauty, it may not be seen in the object

look at me, see my reflection

look at me, see my flesh

look at me, see my expressions

look at me, recognize my features

talk to me , see my beauty
It's mostly in the eye of the beholder...but there are some strandards of beauty that seem to be universal...like symmetry in features (in either objects or people). Still, I think we all have certain things that attract us, and they may not be the same for others. For instance, I find a slight overbite to be attractive! I'm not sure why, but it's always appealed to me. I can only guess that I knew someone at one time (when I was very young) that had an overbite and was very kind or appealing in some way, and that has caused this attraction.
How do you know the ocean or a mountain or a person is beautiful, unless you percieve it to be? I have seen an ocean I do not find attractive to swim in, yet others see it as beautiful simply b/c God created it. Our level of attraction varies. I think those people who say both, are Really saying

    ';if you think she's beautiful, then I think she's beautiful.';

    ';if my television says she's the it girl, then I say she's the it girl.';

  • Do you believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder?

I do! Do you believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder?
indeed. Every ones brain finds certain features attractive, so each person will have a different opinion on beauty. Do you believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder?
To some extent. I think that some people really have such unique type of beauty that not everyone will necessarily see it, whereas others have more of a classic beauty that most people can see. However no matter what you look like there would be some people in the world who thought differently than the majority.

I do think that there's something beautiful about all people though...:)
Hell yeah, different people find different things beautiful and there's no right or wrong. As a really simple example, my best friend is allergic to cats and doesn't like them but I can't understand how she can't look at them and think how beautiful they are.

Also, people say my boyfriend is a bit skinny but I really like his physique and wouldn't want him a pound heavier.

    Each to their own.
It really is. There are so many people who are gorgeous on the outside but so ugly on the inside. It goes the other way around as well. Everyone has their idea of beauty. My idea has little to do with the outside appearance. It's their heart and soul that truly matters to me. Maybe that's why I only have a few friends in my life, I don't meet very many truly good people. lol
i believe that beauty lies inside a person. looks are just a benifit. i like a some people dont like but she is a perfectlly beautiful person
Definitely, but I also believe that some people don't get that.

Personally I'm paying more attention to someones character then his/hers beauty!
of course. you don麓t have to be classically good looking - you might have other beautiful attributes - personality, SOH, generosity etc.
we all have our own definition of what's beautiful. everyone has something that other people may find beautiful, even if they don't exactly conform to the common standard of beauty.
Hell yes. i see beauty every day the words they say, eyes, looks ,most of all the way they love being right here right now.
    Definitely!
Of course, otherwise why would most people be in relationships when we are not all stunners?
Yes, but that goes for the beauty inside as well...
I think it always is, and it makes life more interesting!
Unless you are really fat and really ugly...
    Certainly....and in the hands
    Yeah.

Which is why a lot of average chicks think they're uber sexy
Yes but i hate that saying. It's usually said to make ugly people feel better. Harsh but true.
Beauty lies at heart :) - i believe in this
    yes
    yes
    yes
    yes i do
I agree with champagne hehe x
    That's what ugly people say

    Asian/beauty?under eye darkness?

i'm wondering why most asian people don't have under eye darkness

I'm half asian and i get plenty of sleep at least 8 hrs a day andi have under eye darkness

my mom doesn't my dad does because of his job

so why? and are there ways to get rid of it besides makeup and productsAsian/beauty?under eye darkness?
sleep!! sleep!! sleep is the cause but it looks like u get enough?

dont worry about it will go away as you growAsian/beauty?under eye darkness?
you may not be getting enough water. Just try to drink like 8 glasses of water a day.

';beauty is in the eye of the beholder';........urgh, is that saying just to make ugly people feel better?

You could be right but I don't see a problem with wanting others to feel better, ';beauty is in the eye of the beholder';........urgh, is that saying just to make ugly people feel better?
No, because people who are ugly, are just that, ugly. If they are generalised that way then maybe they don't have a beholder and they will look like that to everyone for the rest of their lives. Every person can find beauty, and maybe someone could find it in an ugly person, you cant lose hope, my sister has a boyfriend and she has a face like a horses ***.';beauty is in the eye of the beholder';........urgh, is that saying just to make ugly people feel better?
True ugliness is not about looks but about the inner person. The phrase you have quoted is not about making 'ugly' people feel better. It means that the concept of beauty is very subjective as people throughout the world have different ideas about what actually constitutes beauty.
That saying is true. I've seen some people I thought even a mother couldn't love without the use of a paper bag over the child's head.

With that said.... it didn't make me feel better when I was growing up. I was called ugly, made to feel really bad to the point where I just didn't leave the house until night time.

The line is true, but how much do lines help?
No. I have known some women that I have found really attractive and interesting with fantastic personalities that I have wanted to know much better in all senses. They have however, not been clasically beautiful but have been much better to be with than many so called beautiful women.
no we all have diffrent ideas on whats attractive. a lot of woman find say brad pitt for example is attractive but i don't. i think jarvis cocker is a fox grrr!!!!
Not at all, because what you think is beautiful others could find very ugly
I think so. But no one is ';ugly';- beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
No, the truly ugly people generally don't like that saying.
There is Mental %26amp; there is Physical Beauty !
Well you know how to make me feel better about my old face love.....

Of course it is, but it has never worked for me..*sulks*
it annoys me not everyone can be pretty and beautiful, I wish I was!! There is so much more to life then looking good I think! I think everyone should be happy of who they are, flaws as well!
You got it wrong. It goes ';Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder'; :)
Yes it makes the wife feel better...bless her nylon socks.
It is and don't you feel much better about yourself?
It cheers me up, so yeh.
I think so. but sometime ugly people don't like that at all!!!
I think so yes BUT life is not all about what people look like. I discovered that one I got over 25

Dark under eye circles, any beauty secrets?

i have dark under eye circles, i've tried countless products that don't work. any suggestions?Dark under eye circles, any beauty secrets?

To hide dark circles, you can use YSL concealer or salmon concealer..

Yeah - I've got them too and I haven't been able to lighten them. I stopped searching (it was expensive). My doctor told me to get more sleep and drink less caffeine, which helps a lot (although they are not completely gone). Meanwhile, my best remedy is covering them up (concealer). It basically takes care of them. I would recommend this one:

    There are no special products.

    Just two very important things.

Get as much sleep as you can and drink a lot of water.
    take miti vitamins
insted of trying to cover them up with concealer, try using a highlighting cream.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Who is credited for this quote?

Margaret Wolfe Hungerford (1855 - 97) Irish novelist (in Molly Bawn, 1878, where this phrase first appeared)Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Who is credited for this quote?
It comes from an old persian saying. It is still used today when a person is complimented like ';you look beautiful'; and a reply would be ';Thank you, your eyes are(see) beautiful'; basically implying that beauty is the the eye of the one who sees it.Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Who is credited for this quote?
Margaret Wolfe Hungerford. See this website for further background.http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/59100鈥?/a>
It's a very old proverb, so I'm not sure it can be directly credited. I would highly suggest reading this short information site on it:)

    http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/59100.html
Today I will credit you with this quote, because it takes a wise person to understand that all people and things are beautiful. It just takes a very wise person to know the truth and to recognize true beauty.
Not sure but I am sure I got 2 points for answering this question!!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder how can that be today?

We have all heard the saying but how can that exsist when beauty is being choosen for us by media images. Do people think this is right, are you a slave to the media when picking your partnerBeauty is in the eye of the beholder how can that be today?
With so much media I the world i would say it is impossible for us to exclude some of the media propaganda all together. The best i think we can hope for is to be aware of it and try not to let it influence our choices.Beauty is in the eye of the beholder how can that be today?
I hope not. It's not right to pick a jerk over a really nice guy no matter how hot he is...

I'm not going to say that my boyfriend's the hottest thing on the planet (I'm brutally honest) but I think he's pretty handsome. And he's wonderful, personality wise.

And when it comes down to it, we have plastic surgery for everything from eyes to stomachs to legs. What we don't have is plastic surgery for personalities.
    I like people for who they are, not how they look. But I know that's not too popular of a viewpoint. ^^;
That is an old saying that isn't pertinent today. Now we have TV, newspapers, magazines, and Hollywood telling us what is acceptable. You better not have a wrinkle, or any fat and learn to puke up at least 2 of your meals a day so you can stay thin.
It's a shame that a lot of people don't get to see the true beauty of a person..the person inside. If a person isn't attractive enough..most people won't even think about striking up a conversation w/ them just for that reason. I personally go off of personality more so than looks. There are a lot of attractive people who have nothing going on upstairs or are so stuck up because they know they look good. I much rather be w/ a person that I can have a conversation w/ and that can make me laugh:)
    no definetly not

i mean every single person out there has some standards but i definetly (aside from standards) have no preferences im really open minded

i mainly look for what a girl would be like person wise

    shakespere.

it's supposed to mean that we each have our own idea of what we consider beautiful.
someone ugly. Beauty is a science (according to Einstein) not society their is reason why your eyes is attracted to something beautiful. Your brain receives signals that make you attracted to something over something else. Your more likely to sympathize for something your brain thinks is beautiful.
    ';Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.';

Is actually a paraphrase of a statement by Plato:

    ';Remember how in that communion only, beholding beauty with the eye of the mind, he will be enabled to bring forth, not images of beauty, but realities (for he has hold not of an image but of a reality), and bringing forth and nourishing true virtue to become the friend of God and be immortal, if mortal man may.';

    -Plato, Symposium
This saying first appeared in the 3rd century BC in Greek. It didn't appear in its current form in print until the 19th century, but in the meantime there were various written forms that expressed much the same thought. In 1588, the English dramatist John Lyly, in his Euphues and his England, wrote:

    ';...as neere is Fancie to Beautie, as the pricke to the Rose, as the stalke to the rynde, as the earth to the roote.';

Shakespeare expressed a similar sentiment in Love's Labours Lost, 1588:

Good Lord Boyet, my beauty, though but mean,

Needs not the painted flourish of your praise:

Beauty is bought by judgement of the eye,

Not utter'd by base sale of chapmen's tongues

Benjamin Franklin, in Poor Richard's Almanack, 1741, wrote:

    Beauty, like supreme dominion

    Is but supported by opinion

David Hume's Essays, Moral and Political, 1742, include:

    ';Beauty in things exists merely in the mind which contemplates them.';

The person who is widely credited with coining the saying in its current form is Margaret Wolfe Hungerford (n茅e Hamilton), who wrote many books, often under the pseudonym of 'The Duchess'. In Molly Bawn, 1878, there's the line ';Beauty is in the eye of the beholder';, which is the earliest citation of it that I can find in print.

And it's not crap. It's truth in human nature. People should realize this and worry about being who they are instead of wasting their life trying to be something they are not.

    Cheers :-)
It is actually true. Some things are not beautiful at all that is true. But some things that people think are beautiful are hideous to me like Anna Nicole Smith. I think the older you get you will realize this.
An ugly person said it first.
You should be glad because you'd be ugly to everyone otherwise.
lol some one so ugly they had to say that to make them selfs feel better !

What does *beauty is in the eye of the beholder* mean?

It means that everyone sees beauty differently - the beholder, or the one looking may think something (or someone) is beautiful where others wouldn't. For example, there is a woman at work that all the guys find very attractive, and I just don't see it. Likewise, there are women there that I think are attractive that they don't.. What does *beauty is in the eye of the beholder* mean?
It means that everyone has different tastes and sees things differently ... what appeals to me may not appeal to you ... therefore ... in ';my eyes'; that something has beauty but in yours it doesn't.

A nice twist on that old quote is ... Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder ... lolWhat does *beauty is in the eye of the beholder* mean?
Different people will find different things beautiful, and the difference of opinions doesn't matter greatly.
in layman, what i might consider beautiful, you or others may not consider beautiful. thus beauty rests in the eyes of the person perceiving it. is this helpful?
That you are the true person that can really say something is beautiful and that not all people have that same eye of beauty for everything and it is different for every one
It means that every person sees beauty differently. So what may be beautiful to one person may not be to another.
that means that everyone sees things different, so something ugl to one person could be beautiful to another. basically, everyone has a different opinion.
It means that everyone has a different veiw of what is beautiful. It's kind of like ';one man's trash is another man's treasure';.
    means

    beauty is different for everyone

what you might beautiful others might not and vise-versa
it means that different people see things differently and something that one person finds beautiful, another person may not
It means That I think something is beautiful even if you and others don't. I am the beholder.
you may think that there is beauty in one thing, but another may think the complete opposite.
You see how beautiful someone is when most do not
